Are you starting to devote yourself to living green yet?  One Eco way to find out about the resources and ways to live a greener lifestyle is by reading our blog! Of course, no paper necessary.  There are however so many other outlets, and one of those great resources are books.  As a devoted book reader I have some recommendations for you and for your young children.  Bland?  No.  Entertaining?  Yes.  Besides being entertaining, I always think of books as a cultural and educational tool.  We can all allow ourselves a little Eco guilt.

Eco Fashionistas, this book is for you-Eco Chic Guide to Life by Starre Vartanlarge1

It is a classic guide for stylish girls on how to be fabulously green, this means learning how to shop for vintage and sustainable clothing and lowering your carbon foot print in a pair of Louboutins.

clean-body-book1In case you think you already know everything Eco and about a healthy lifestyle this book might surprise you.  Michael DeJong shows you there is more than one way to do things- Clean Body by Michael DeJong

He aims to teach us the importance of personal and household care by doing things yourself.  The most important lesson he has to teach is that living green means cleaning up your life.

If you have young children at home and a bit of spare cash around this guide is for you, A Kid’s Guide to Giving by Freddie Zeiler book

This book sorts out through the mess of kid-friendly charities and gives you the 411 on who, what, how and why.  It will teach you the proper way of giving money and organizing charitable events.  If you can believe it the book’s idea was thought of by a 14 year old Freddie Zeiler.  He has decided to make a change in the world but soon realized a need for more research and instead of quitting did the work himself.

How about, besides books, recommending us other good blogs in wich we are always learning new things. I have found a great one for finding products that contain no chemicals: amazoniagreenproducts.com/blog

I have the eco chick guide to living green, it reads really well. It definitely turned me onto vintage.

I also love your post about swap parties and how consumerism contributes to pollution. Whoever thought of swap parties had an excellent idea, let me know when you are having one.

Dear Carlos, you mean besides our fabulous blog? I do recommend other blogs where the green living and organic conversations continue. You can find them under LInks We Envy! There is a lot of great information from spas to mental health.

    Regards,
    Paulina

I love the Skin Deep Database for cosmetics. You can put in any product you use and get a reading on how toxic it is. Finding a good product isn’t always easy with all the misleading claims.
