Traveling for the Arts

Feeling artsy? If you happen to be in the San Francisco area between February 5-14, 2010 do not miss the annual Arte Du Monde celebration of the arts. The show consists of separate shows that focus on worldwide tribal art and draw in art dealers and historians from all over the world.
The Marin show joined in with the San Francisco Textile & Arts show has specifically been described as the “Superbowl of Native American Art collecting” and is going to exhibit the best in American art, much of which will be museum quality. Art lovers will get to view, and in instances even touch, an array of items. The carefully selected artworks will include; sculpture, pottery, masks, tapestries, jewelry, photography and paintings from the Americas and other parts of the world.
The shows will also include lectures from professionals and historians. One
Sunday lecture in particular will be with Dr. Candace Greene, an author and anthropologist with Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural history. Do not let this exciting and inspirational week in arts pass you by, if you are a serious art lover or collector you have to be there.
