Holiday hangover & other messes

This hangover involves no alcoholic beverages. I am talking about the mess the holidays have created. I want to discuss the boxes, the bows, the wrapping paper, the left over food and drinks. What to do with all of it and how to use it in the best way possible with limited waste.

I also want to know how you clean your mess, the best and most creative answer will enter you into a contest for an organic beauty goody bag.

Wishing you

Green Theme

Planning a small get together for friends can be fun but also very wasteful. This is especially true if you have no choice but to use plastic for almost everything. Concrete, alcoholic drinks, and expensive glasses do not mix. It always bothers me to use plastic anything, not only is it not Eco friendly but in my opinion lacks in style and creativity as well. Take a look at these products from Preserve..

Clip It

Clip things with a touch of fortune and unique design. Today I found these decorative clips by Susan Connor, a Manhattan based artist and designer.

The sustainable in Fashion Week

It is Fashion Week in New York city and finally the sustainable in fashion is getting the attention it deserves. Natalie ‘Alabama’ Chanin’s line is all about zero nonsense in waste or foreign manufacturer deals. Her line has shown a great deal of promise and demanded respect from the fashion crowd. I cannot image someone not rooting for a line that is made in the USA and cares about its environment. It comes as no surprise she is in the running and a finalist for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund.

Not In with the ugly

I have found super stylish and eco products on Guffly. Ahh, it is totally amazing the things that I found, so modern and definitely not ugly. The website is operated by a group of hard working individuals who have a true passion for what they do. The best line in the eco world? “We know that people aren’t interested in ugly stuff, so you can bet Guffly’s green products are stylish, fun and attractive.”

Back to School

At the Organic Spa Magazine our saying is “It’s A Lifestyle..Live it”. As many students leave home and start living the dorm life it is important to make sure they are informed on green living. Many universities are now implementing programs to educate and remind their students to do their part for the planet and their own well being by going green. Read my tips on how to make your dorm room a bit more eco.

The Green Real Estate market

When renting or buying any forward thinking individual will want to consider a home that is eco conscious. Today individuals have the option to go with a regular real estate broker or an eco one. Which one would you chose?

Homemade facial mask #2

Once again I am looking to find yet a another great recipe for a homemade facial mask. Obviously a product that is already nicely packaged and thought out by someone else is wonderful, but what if your aim is to only use the things you love and save money at the same time. The yogurt & cucumber facial mask did it for me.

How to throw an Eco Party

Fourth of July might be over but the season for fabulous summer parties has just begun. One major problem I notice when having my own get together with friends is all the waste that is created. Remember to put thought into the details and your guests will most definitely take notice.
