Drinking enough water throughout the day has been an ongoing battle for me. During the summer months it can be especially hard to stay hydrated. Generally, I spend more time outdoors and on the go. When I saw a nutritionist last year, the first question she asked was about my daily water intake. It's even more important to keep replenishing your body with fluids during physical exercise and in warmer climates. The general rule of thumb is to take your weight and divide it by two. This amount should be the ounces of water you need on a daily basis during non-strenuous activities.
Throughout the years, I have been playing numerous tricks on myself to increase my water intake. My attempts ranged from adding fruits, such as oranges and strawberries, to tap water or mixing sparkling water with a hint of apple juice. I have also been the owner of multiple reusable water bottles such as CamelBak, Sigg, or EarthLust. Even though those bottles are great for travel I always gave up after a while. Part of it was, that I didn’t really enjoy drinking out of a plastic or stainless steel bottle. As an alternative, I have been eyeing Love Bottle since they are made from glass. They come in many cool designs with cute illustrations like the New York skyline, which caught my eye at my yoga studio.
Love Bottle donates 5% of each bottle sold to Global Water. According to Water.org, 663 million people or 1 in 10 lack access to safe water. To make a difference, Love Bottle partnered with Global Water to help create clean water systems in third world locations. For example, the donations helped to build a clean water station for a school in Guatemala. This allows the girls to go to school instead of spending their time carrying water. The bottles are made in the USA and some of the designs display cities such as New York, Portland, San Francisco, or Seattle. Other graphics are inspired by nature or words of wisdom. All glass bottles are recyclable, BPA free, dishwasher safe, and make great presents. At the bottom of each bottle is a special message for you to read.
