Recently opened this past year, Vida is in Barkers National Park on Grand Cayman and is considered to be the first resort on the island to cater specifically to the wellness tourism sector, along with a big emphasis on sustainability. Manager Milly Serpell has stated in a previous interview, “Vida is a very special place. It was essential to support our surrounding ecological systems; local trees have been painstakingly protected during the building process, allowing wildlife to remain and flourish.” 

With this dedication to sustainability, they have retained and planted natural vegetation, commissioned local artists for public and interior artwork, and offer farm-to-table food. They also encourage biodiversity and preserve habitats for area critters, saving existing endemic flora and have installed turtle-friendly lighting. Reusable water bottles are handed out at check-in for guests to use at water refill stations on every floor, and each room is also equipped with composting and recycling bins. One of the resort’s local partnerships includes working closely with Beacon Farms which will be receiving all Vida’s green waste for compost and provide fruit and vegetables, for the resort’s in-house restaurant, Nourish. 

This 12-suite luxury beachside property offers yoga, reiki, meditation, and workout classes, intending to give a holistic and authentic experience to their guests. With cooking classes, turtle release programs, and an array of adventure activities, the experience here runs the gamut.
