The newest and largest urban spa in Latin America
Though the design is contemporary and the crowd city-chic, there’s a meditative quality to the Zaitania Spa, the new Grand Hyatt Bogota’s wellness space—which, at over 32,000 square feet, is now the largest urban spa in Latin America.
Long, high-ceilinged hallways lined in marble and granite lead to discoveries at every turn, from a window-walled hydrotherapy circuit and a fitness studio equipped with on-demand classes to a stunning, semi-Olympic pool ringed by oversized seats that seem to have been thrown by potters. Spa Manager Karen Smith and her team have created a spa menu that showcases an array of unique techniques and products, the latter from both international and Colombian brands. Standout rituals and treatments feature goodies by the cult-favorite Loto del Sur, a sophisticated organic line crafted by Bogota-based perfumer Johana Sanit using regional ingredients.
Get soaked in ginger or pink grapefruit; scrubbed with a mix of unrefined cane sugar and lemon; wrapped in green coffee (to help detox), anti-aging gold (a nod to Colombia’s mining history), or hydrating pure coconut palm; or massaged with oil infused with orchid (the national flower). Add on a face and scalp massage done with “liquid gold”—the vitamin- and mineral-rich oil of the Amazonian cacay nut, which is only harvested twice a year. Before each treatment, guests can set an intention for their experience by choosing a red, blue or yellow stone; the colors both correspond to a specific chakra, and represent the Colombian flag. bogota.grand.hyatt.com
