I loved the Oscars this year. I might not have agreed with all the winners of the actual awards, but I did agree with the fashion and beauty choices of almost everyone that walked the red carpet. I even liked Pharrell William’s tuxedo shorts!
I thought Lupita Nyong’o pale blue dress against her flawless dark skin was amazing! And what about the simple yet sparkling elegance of Cate Blanchett that simply lit up the red carpet? I thought it would be fun to virtually “green” the makeup of two big winners. Here are my green red carpet Oscar makeovers for Cate Blanchett and Lupita Nyong’o.
Cate Blanchett
To achieve Cate Blanchett’s makeup, start with a great primer. I love the primer by Mineral Fusion. Because of its slick texture, the makeup stays on all night. Next apply Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Full Coverage Foundation in Fair Sand, followed by ZuZu Luxe Dual Powder Foundation in D10 (apply lightly with a brush). Mineral Fusion Blush in Pale gives the cheeks a subtle glow. Eyes are highlighted by Divita Defined Lines Liquid Liner Pen in Deep Black. I also think Cate wore a pair of false lashes for the camera, but you can omit that step and add your favorite eco-friendly mascara. Finish off with lipstick in Dune by Gabriel Cosmetics. Now all you have to do is find that intricately beaded Giorgio Armani gown!

Lupita Nyong’o
This was a big win for Nyong’o. She is the first African to ever win an Oscar. Lupita has beautiful skin with an amazing complexion. To get this flawless look, apply Vapour Organic Beauty in Atmosphere Luminous Foundation in 160. Words cannot explain how much I love this foundation, especially in this shade! It’s sometimes hard for brown girls to find the right green shade of foundation. This hits the nail on the head. Next apply blush by Garbiel Cosmetics in Contour. Emphasize eyes with ZuZu Luxe Liner in Obsidian and RMS Mascara. Finish with PureGloss Lip Gloss by Jane Iredale in Iced Mocha, which is both creamy and glossy.
